Find Your Way – MichiganTrailMaps.com

The new 5th edition of Jim DuFresne’s Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park:  A Backcountry Guide for Hikers, Backpackers, Campers & Winter Visitors just arrived from the printers! In honor of this classic, all the photos in our banner above are of Michigan’s largest state park. Plus we have it on sale in our e-shop along with our Porkie book & Map combo. Among the improvements in this edition; the 25 detailed maps now feature the locations and numbers for all 65 backcountry campsites that need to be reserved in advance.

This is the summer for hiking and paddling adventures to shipwrecks. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is forecasting that Lake Michigan and Lake Huron will be almost 2 feet below the record highs set in 2020. That means a lot of our shoreline wrecks will be high and dry for easy viewing. We have put together a Landlubber’s Guide to Michigan Shipwrecks in which none of the wrecks require an air tank to visit.

Don’t let those gas prices your summer adventures up north. Check out all our books and trail maps in our e-shop and start planning. Wherever you’re headed next year, MichiganTrailMaps.com is there to help you Find Your Way.
